About Växjö DFF

Växjö DFF is a women's football club from Växjö in Kronoberg County, Sweden, formed in 2014 through the merger of Växjö FF's women's section and Hovshaga AIF's women's football section. The club quickly established itself in Swedish women's football, taking over a place in Division 1 in their debut season and finishing second behind IFK Kalmar. By 2017, Växjö DFF had won the Division 1 title and earned their first-ever promotion to the Damallsvenskan. The club has experienced the ups and downs typical of a relatively young team competing at the top level. After being relegated in 2021 following a 0-5 loss to Linköpings FC, Växjö bounced back immediately by earning promotion back to the Damallsvenskan in 2022. That resilience has become a hallmark of the club, which continues to compete effectively against more established opposition with limited resources. Växjö DFF play their home matches at Visma Arena in Växjö, providing a compact but energetic home atmosphere for Damallsvenskan action. Playing in their distinctive black and purple colors, Växjö represent the Småland region in Sweden's top women's division, offering a pathway for local talent to compete at the highest level of Swedish women's football.
