Norrköping

IFK Norrköping DFK is the women's football section associated with IFK Norrköping, one of Sweden's most historic and successful men's football clubs. The women's team was founded in 2009 through a collaboration between local clubs Lindö FF and Saltängens BK, with additional support from Åby IF, Eneby BK, and Smedby AIS. After years of development in the lower divisions, the club earned their first promotion to the Damallsvenskan in 2022, bringing top-level women's football to the city of Norrköping. The team plays at Norrköpings Idrottspark — the historic stadium that has been the home of IFK Norrköping since 1903 and is known by various sponsorship names over the years. The venue provides a prestigious setting for Damallsvenskan football and connects the women's team to the rich sporting heritage of one of eastern Sweden's most important football cities. As a relatively young club competing among more established Damallsvenskan sides, IFK Norrköping DFK have focused on building a competitive squad through a combination of local talent development and strategic recruitment. The club's association with the IFK Norrköping brand — winners of 13 Allsvenskan titles on the men's side — provides institutional credibility and growing support from the Norrköping football community.
