Eintracht Frankfurt Women are one of the most storied clubs in European women's football, carrying forward the legacy of 1. FFC Frankfurt, which was the most successful German women's club of the early 2000s. The women's football department traces its origins to SG Praunheim, which established its women's section in 1973. In 1999, the team became 1. FFC Frankfurt, and on 1 July 2020, the club merged with Eintracht Frankfurt to become the women's department of the Bundesliga giants. With seven German championship titles, nine DFB-Pokal Frauen trophies, and four UEFA Women's Champions League crowns, Eintracht Frankfurt Women boast one of the most impressive trophy cabinets in women's football worldwide, trailing only Olympique Lyonnais in European titles.
