Saturday full of surprises
The weekend kicked off with a solid performance from Växjö DFF, who confidently defeated BP 2:0 at Visma Arena. The hosts, fighting to secure safety, controlled the match from start to finish and deservedly added three points.
In Kristianstad, fans witnessed a six-goal thriller, unfortunately for the home side, it was Djurgården who had more reasons to celebrate after a 4:2 victory. The Stockholm team strengthened their grip on fourth place and still dream of reaching the podium.
The biggest surprise of the day came from Vittsjö GIK, who beat AIK 2:1 away from home. The visitors played bravely and their clinical finishing in key moments lifted them to seventh place in the standings.
Sunday performances from the top teams
Sunday brought a real rollercoaster of emotions. Malmö FF, the third-placed side, suffered a shocking 1:2 home defeat to Piteå IF. It was the first loss in a while for Malmö, who dropped valuable points in their chase for the title.
Meanwhile, Hammarby’s fans had every reason to celebrate. The capital side crushed IFK Norrköping 4:0, sending a clear message to BK Häcken that the title race is not over yet. With this dominant win, Hammarby remain just four points behind the leaders.
Elsewhere, FC Rosengård and Alingsås IF shared the spoils in a goalless draw, a result that helps neither team. Rosengård continue to hover just above the relegation zone, while the newly promoted Alingsås remain rooted to the bottom.
To close the round, the league leaders put on a show of strength. BK Häcken swept aside Linköping FC 4:0 at Bravida Arena. The victory cements their top spot with 58 points and an impressive goal difference of 83:17.
