The eighth round of the Women’s Super League delivered plenty of excitement and several dramatic twists. The top clash between Arsenal and Chelsea ended in a draw, allowing Manchester City to take the lead in the standings. At the bottom of the table, Liverpool and West Ham suffered heartbreaks, both teams dropped points in stoppage time and are still waiting for their first win of the season.

Chelsea extended their unbeaten run but lost their spot at the top of the table.

Matchweek 8 highlighted how fierce the title race will be this season. Arsenal, under Renee Slegers, displayed bold, attacking football and may feel hard done by after their disallowed goals. Manchester City and Chelsea continue to set the pace, while Manchester United lost ground after slipping up against Aston Villa.
