Chicago Stars FC, formerly the Chicago Red Stars, are one of the longest-running women's soccer clubs in the United States. Founded in 2006 for the WPS era, the club became an NWSL founding member in 2013 and held the league's longest active playoff streak from 2015 to 2022 — an eight-year run of consistency unmatched in league history. The Chicago Red Stars reached the NWSL Championship final in 2019 and were 2020 Challenge Cup runners-up. Following a $60 million acquisition by a group led by Laura Ricketts, the club rebranded as Chicago Stars FC in 2025, entering a new chapter with fresh ownership and identity.
