Kansas City Current vs Bay FC — NWSL Live Score

The imposing CPKC Stadium, a landmark in women's football, prepares to host a fascinating showdown this Saturday as Kansas City Current welcome Bay FC. This isn't just another NWSL fixture; it pits the established might of the Current against the ambitious spirit of an expansion team that defied expectations from day one.

Kansas City Current operate from a fortress unlike any other. CPKC Stadium, opened in 2024, stands as the world's first purpose-built arena exclusively for a professional women's sports team. This $117 million investment, seating 11,500 fans, isn't merely a venue; it's a statement about the club's vision and the escalating infrastructure of the NWSL. On the pitch, the Current delivered on that promise, capturing the 2025 NWSL Shield with a record-setting 21-point buffer over their nearest rival, demonstrating their consistent dominance.

Across the pitch, Bay FC brings the vibrant energy of the San Francisco Bay Area to the league. Founded by USWNT legends Brandi Chastain, Danielle Slaton, Aly Wagner, and Leslie Osborne, the club made an immediate splash, securing a playoff berth in its inaugural 2024 season. That achievement stands as a testament to their immediate impact and strategic planning, a rare feat for any expansion side. The Bay Area club also etched its name in the NWSL history books by drawing 40,091 fans to Oracle Park in August 2025, setting a new single-match attendance record at the time, showcasing the fervent support behind the team.

Historically, this matchup has leaned heavily in favor of the hosts. In five previous meetings, Kansas City Current have emerged victorious in every single encounter, leaving Bay FC still searching for their first win against the Missouri side. That head-to-head record adds another layer of intrigue to Saturday's contest. The Current will aim to maintain their perfect record against the California outfit, while Bay FC will undoubtedly view this as an opportunity to rewrite that particular narrative.

As the two teams prepare to clash at CPKC Stadium on Saturday, October 3, 2026, the stage is set for a compelling encounter that spotlights both the NWSL's growing legacy and its promising future.
