Bay FC vs Orlando Pride — NWSL Live Score

The NWSL's reigning champions, Orlando Pride, make the cross-country journey to face Bay FC this Sunday, a matchup that pits the league's established elite against an ambitious expansion side. This affair at PayPal Park in San Jose is more than just another fixture; it is a clash of narratives, with the Pride looking to assert their dominance and Bay FC eager to prove their rapid ascent is no fluke.

Bay FC brought top-level women's soccer to the San Francisco Bay Area, making an immediate impact by qualifying for the NWSL playoffs in its inaugural 2024 season. That rare achievement for an expansion franchise underscored the vision of its founders — USWNT legends Brandi Chastain, Danielle Slaton, Aly Wagner, and Leslie Osborne. The club has already etched its name in the league's history books, drawing 40,091 fans to Oracle Park in August 2025, setting what was at the time the NWSL single-match attendance record. The hosts will be looking to translate that passionate support into a breakthrough result against a formidable opponent.

Orlando Pride arrives in California as the undisputed queens of the NWSL, having claimed both the NWSL Shield and the Championship title in a dominant 2024 season. The Pride's 1-0 victory over Washington Spirit in the Championship final at CPKC Stadium, secured by Barbra Banda's MVP-winning performance, marked the club's first major trophy. That triumph validated years of strategic investment, firmly establishing Orlando among the NWSL's elite. Banda, the Zambian international forward, has been a transformative presence for the Floridian side, and her influence will be key as the Pride navigate another demanding season.

History between these two clubs heavily favors the visitors. In five previous meetings, Orlando Pride has emerged victorious four times, with one draw. Bay FC is still searching for their first win against the reigning champions. This Sunday's encounter at PayPal Park offers Bay FC another opportunity to rewrite that particular script, while the Pride will aim to extend their impressive record against the ambitious San Jose outfit. The stage is set for a compelling contest as the NWSL season continues.
