About RCD Espanyol Femení

RCD Espanyol Femení is one of the pioneers of women's football in Spain, with its origins dating back to 1970. In 1971, Espanyol participated in the Catalan Pernod Cup, playing in front of over 40,000 spectators at Sarrià Stadium and 30,000 at the Camp Nou. The club won its first and only league title in 2006 and has captured six Copas de la Reina (2006, 2009, 2012), making them one of the most historically decorated women's clubs in Spain. Espanyol play at the Ciutat Esportiva Dani Jarque, the club's training complex named in honor of beloved captain Dani Jarque (1983-2009). After being relegated for the first time in their history in 2020-21, Espanyol fought their way back to the top flight and are competing in Liga F for the 2025-26 season. The squad features midfielder Ainoa Campo, defender Lucía Vallejo, and forward Ona Baradad. As Barcelona's other club, Espanyol Femení carries a proud identity distinct from their cross-city rivals and continues to develop talent while competing in Spain's top division.
