Barcelona

FC Barcelona Femení — known internationally as FC Barcelona Femenino — is the dominant force in Spanish and European women's football, boasting ten Liga F titles, three UEFA Women's Champions League trophies (2021, 2023, 2024), and a record eleven Copas de la Reina. Formally recognised by the Spanish Football Federation in 1988 after years of unofficial play dating back to the early 1980s, the club's professionalisation in 2015 sparked an era of unprecedented success that has made Barcelona Femení one of the most decorated women's teams on the planet. Playing at the 6,000-capacity Estadi Johan Cruyff within the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper in Sant Joan Despí, Barcelona Femení regularly draws massive crowds when big matches are moved to the Camp Nou — including a world-record 91,648 attendance for a Women's Champions League semi-final in 2022. The FC Barcelona Femení squad for 2025-26 features Aitana Bonmatí, the three-time consecutive Ballon d'Or Féminin winner (2023, 2024, 2025), alongside Ballon d'Or 2021 and 2022 winner Alexia Putellas, Norwegian international Caroline Graham Hansen, and Polish striker Ewa Pajor. Barcelona's stranglehold on Spanish women's football shows no signs of loosening, with the club leading Liga F once again in 2025-26.
