Winter Transfers in the Google Pixel Frauen-Bundesliga – Overview Ahead of the Second Half of the Season

Published 3 min read

The winter break in the Google Pixel Frauen-Bundesliga has traditionally been an opportunity for squad adjustments. Although not all 14 clubs decided to strengthen their teams, several sides used the transfer window to increase competition within the squad or secure reinforcements ahead of the crucial part of the season. Before the start of the second half of the campaign, we present a summary of the winter transfer activity so far.

Bayern Munich

The reigning German champions focused on strengthening the midfield and attack. Bernadette Amani, a midfielder signed from CD Tenerife, joined the squad to add extra quality in build-up play. Meanwhile, Edna Imade returned early from her loan spell at Real Sociedad, increasing competition in Bayern’s attacking line.

Werder Bremen

Werder turned to young potential from England. Mara Alber, a forward from FC Chelsea, was loaned to the club until the end of the season. Her dynamism and one-on-one ability could prove to be valuable assets in the fight for league points.

TSG Hoffenheim

The club from Sinsheim opted to reinforce its defensive line. Emilie Byrnak, a defender from BK Häcken, joined Hoffenheim on loan. The Swedish player is expected to help stabilize the back line during the decisive phase of the season.

Eintracht Frankfurt

One of the most experienced transfers this winter is the return of Sara Doorsoun to the Bundesliga. The German international moved to Eintracht Frankfurt from Angel City FC, bringing not only defensive quality but also valuable international experience.

1. FC Union Berlin

The league newcomer was one of the most active clubs on the transfer market. Union strengthened almost every position:

  • Amber Tysiak (defense) from West Ham United
  • Julia Kassen (goalkeeper) from FC Carl Zeiss Jena
  • Silje Helgesen (defense) from Stabæk IF
  • Lia Kamber (midfield) from FC Basel

Such a wide range of transfers underlines the Berlin club’s determination to fight for survival.

1. FC Nürnberg

Nürnberg focused on defense by signing Fany Proniez from RC Lens. The French defender is expected to increase competition at the back and improve the team’s overall stability.

Hamburger SV

HSV were also active during the winter transfer window. The club added:

  • Lea Paulick (goalkeeper) from Eintracht Frankfurt
  • Gloria Šlišković (defense) from Juventus Turin
  • Paulina Bartz (midfield) on loan from Bayer 04 Leverkusen

Hamburg are clearly signaling their ambition to improve their position in the league table.

The remaining Frauen-Bundesliga clubs have not yet announced any winter signings. The upcoming second half of the season will show whether a conservative approach proves sufficient or whether the new arrivals will play a decisive role in the battle for the championship, European qualification, and league survival.
