Hammarby

Hammarby IF DFF is one of the pioneers of Swedish women's football, established in 1970 as a section of the multi-sports club Hammarby IF. Founded by Christer Molander, who also served as head coach for the first five years, the club is placed fourth in the all-time Damallsvenskan table and has won the Swedish championship twice — in 1985 and in a triumphant 2023 campaign that ended a 38-year wait for the league title. The club has also won the Svenska Cupen four times, in 1994, 1995, 2023, and 2025. Hammarby play their home matches at Hammarby IP (also known as Kanalplan) in the Södermalm district of Stockholm, with occasional games at Zinkensdamms IP. The ground sits in the heart of one of Stockholm's most vibrant neighborhoods, and the club benefits from a devoted fanbase that has supported women's football in the Swedish capital for over five decades. Legendary players like Pia Sundhage have worn the Hammarby shirt, connecting the club to the broader history of Swedish women's football. The 2023 domestic double — league title and cup — marked a remarkable revival for Hammarby, and the 2025 Svenska Cupen triumph confirmed that success was no fluke. As they compete in the 2026 Damallsvenskan, Hammarby carry the momentum of recent silverware and the ambition of a club that has been at the forefront of women's football in Sweden for over half a century.
