OL Lyonnes

Olympique Lyonnais Féminin — now officially branded as OL Lyonnes — is the most decorated women's football club in history, with eight UEFA Women's Champions League titles including a record five consecutive from 2016 to 2020. Based in Lyon and competing in the Première Ligue (formerly Division 1 Féminine), Lyon have won 18 Première Ligue titles as OL Lyonnes (plus four as predecessor FC Lyon), establishing an era of dominance in French women's football that stretches back to the mid-2000s. The club became the women's section of Olympique Lyonnais in 2004, inheriting a legacy that dates back to FC Lyon's founding in 1970. The OL Lyonnes squad features some of the biggest names in women's football, including longtime captain Wendie Renard — who holds the Champions League record for most appearances with over 130 — and Ballon d'Or Féminin winner Ada Hegerberg. The 2025-26 season saw the addition of Marie-Antoinette Katoto from rivals PSG on a four-year deal, further strengthening an already formidable attacking unit that also includes USA international Lindsey Horan and French forward Kadidiatou Diani. Under new head coach Jonatan Giráldez, appointed in summer 2025, Lyon continue to push for silverware on all fronts. Lyon play their high-profile home matches at the 59,000-capacity Groupama Stadium in Décines-Charpieu. The club's consistent investment in women's football over two decades has made OL Lyonnes the global benchmark for the women's game, with their relentless pursuit of European and domestic titles inspiring generations of players across the world.
