Liga F Round 16! Control over chaos!

Published 4 min read

If Round 15 was an explosion of chaos, defensive collapse, and football without brakes, Round 16 brought something very different: control returning to its rightful place. Liga F seemed to shake itself awake after a week of anarchy. The favourites handled their business calmly and professionally, while teams from the middle and bottom of the table once again collided with the harsh reality of quality gaps.

There were no illusions this time. The hierarchy re-emerged.

Granada W – Logroño W 1:0

Minimalism that brings calm

Granada did not need dominance or extended spells of control. One decision was enough. A penalty converted by Laura Pérez (25’) secured all three points. Logroño tried to respond, but lacked both clarity and courage in the penalty area. This victory perfectly reflects Granada’s identity: minimal risk, maximum efficiency.

Levante W – Real Madrid W 1:2

Quality makes the difference

Levante played with bravery and were rewarded through Dolores Isabel Jácome da Silva (33’). The problem was that Real Madrid do not need many chances. Athenea del Castillo struck twice (11’, 25’), exposing defensive gaps and flipping the match before halftime. It was a textbook demonstration of the difference between an ambitious team and one built to win.

Atlético Madrid W – Espanyol W 0:1

A defeat that hurts more than the scoreline

After the chaotic 5:5 draw in the previous round, Atlético needed stability. Instead, they suffered another blow. Anna Torrodà (56’) scored the decisive goal, while Atlético, despite dominating possession, once again looked like a side without a plan B. Espanyol were disciplined, patient, and clinical. For Atlético, this loss raises uncomfortable questions.

Eibar W – Madrid CFF W 1:3

Efficiency over narrative

Eibar struck first through Carmen Álvarez (23’), but Madrid CFF responded without panic. Emilie Nautnes (49’, 77’) and Kamilla Melgård (69’) completely turned the match around. Madrid CFF did not dominate the game, but they were ruthless when it mattered. Exactly what Eibar lacked.

Costa Adeje Tenerife W – Athletic Club W 5:0

A demolition without mercy

One of the most one-sided matches of the round. Tenerife played fast, aggressive football and showed no sympathy. Goals came from Paola Hernández (18’), Elba Vergés Prats (68’), Aleksandra Zaremba Kupiec (85’), and two stoppage-time strikes by Koko Ange N’Guessan and Iratxe Pérez (90’, 90’). Athletic Club completely collapsed, and the scoreline accurately reflected the gulf in class.

Alhama W – Barcelona W 0:2

Champions’ routine

Barcelona never needed to accelerate. Two moments of pure quality were enough. Clàudia Pina (22’) and Caroline Graham Hansen (72’) sealed a comfortable victory. Alhama were organised and hardworking, but never truly threatened. Barcelona once again won exactly how they wanted, quietly, efficiently, effortlessly.

Badalona W – Deportivo La Coruña W 1:0

One moment, three points

Already in the 2nd minute, Irina Uribe scored the goal that shaped the entire match. Badalona dropped deep, defended compactly, and stayed disciplined. Deportivo tried to respond but lacked precision in decisive moments. The game was decided early and never truly reopened.

Sevilla W – Real Sociedad W 0:2

Experience over chaos

After last week’s attacking madness, Real Sociedad returned to a more controlled approach. An own goal by Esther Sullastres i Ayuso (61’) and a strike from Nerea Eizagirre (72’) secured a calm away victory. This was a match won through patience and experience rather than spectacle.

Round summary

Round 16 of Liga F acted as a correction after chaos. Following the madness of Round 15, order and structure returned. Barcelona and Real Madrid once again confirmed they operate on a different level, winning without needing dominance. The middle of the table remains unstable, while teams at the bottom are increasingly losing not just due to lack of quality, but due to mental fragility.

Liga F continues to move at pace, but it is becoming clearer with every round who can sustain it and who is merely trying to keep up.
