With just three rounds remaining in the league season, the table is starting to take shape, but the excitement is far from over. Both at the top and the bottom, the fight is still alive. One thing, however, is certain: Lyon are once again operating on a completely different level.
From the very beginning of the campaign, Lyon have set the pace and left no room for doubt. They sit comfortably at the top and have already secured first place. Their dominance is visible in every aspect of the game, from a lethal attack to a rock-solid defense. All signs point toward yet another league title. It almost feels like Lyon are playing in a different league altogether. Still, with the playoffs ahead, nothing is guaranteed. As history has shown, knockout stages can bring surprises, and even the strongest teams can stumble.
The battle for places 2–4, which secure playoff qualification, is far more intense. Paris FC and PSG are fighting for the best possible position, while Nantes currently hold onto fourth place. The point gaps are small enough that every remaining match could reshuffle the standings. Theoretically, Dijon and Fleury are still in the race, trailing Nantes by a few points. However, based on current form and the flow of the season, such a turnaround seems unlikely. Nantes would have to drop points significantly, while their rivals would need a near-perfect finish.
The middle of the table offers less drama. Teams like Strasbourg and Fleury are unlikely to push for the playoffs or fall into relegation trouble. For them, the final matches are more about pride and building momentum for the future.
The real tension, however, lies at the bottom. Three teams, Saint-Étienne, Lens, and Montpellier, all sit on 12 points, and the fight for survival will be decided between them. Every point, every goal could prove decisive. The margins are incredibly tight, and the pressure is mounting with each passing round. This is where the true drama of the season will unfold.
Just above them, Le Havre and Marseille are not entirely safe either. Their advantage over the relegation zone is slim, meaning a poor run of results could quickly drag them into danger.
The final stretch of the season promises high drama. While Lyon can already prepare to celebrate another title, the battles for playoff spots and survival will keep fans on edge until the very end. And once the playoffs begin, everything resets. Even a dominant Lyon side will have to prove themselves all over again.
