After a thrilling season opener, it’s time for the second act in France’s top flight of women’s football. Matchday 1 gave us plenty of talking points: Lyon looked every bit the reigning champions, PSG slipped up against a promoted side, and Marseille got a harsh reminder of life in the elite. Now, the next round of clashes could already start shaping the table.
Match of the Week: Saint-Étienne vs Lyon
The Rhône Derby never fails to spark emotions. Lyon showed on opening day that they’re still a step ahead of the rest, teamwork, discipline, and ruthless finishing are their trademark. Saint-Étienne started poorly and will need to play out of their skin against the champions. OL are clear favorites, but derbies always write their own stories.
Olympique Marseille vs Le Havre
As newcomers, OM were given a reality check in Round 1. Le Havre opened with a draw and showed solid organization. Unless Marseille tighten up at the back, they could be staring at another tough night.
Dijon vs Montpellier
Dijon need a quick response after an opening defeat. Montpellier weren’t spectacular either, but they remain a side with firepower up front. Expect a tight contest, where one decisive moment could swing it.
Strasbourg vs Lens
Lens shocked everyone by holding PSG in their debut and were the biggest story of Matchday 1. Strasbourg, however, can’t afford to drop points at home. This could turn into one of the most intense battles of the round, full of grit and fight for every inch of the pitch.
Paris SG vs Nantes
PSG stumbled out of the blocks, but now back on home turf, redemption is a must. The ambition and pressure, are sky-high in Paris. Nantes won’t back down, but it’s hard to imagine PSG dropping points twice in a row.
Fleury 91 vs Paris FC
Two sides with podium ambitions go head-to-head. Both started with wins, but now comes the first real test. Paris FC bring experience, Fleury count on home advantage. This clash could set the tone for the Champions League race.

Lyon will look to reaffirm their dominance, while Saint-Étienne dream of a derby upset.

Behind the favorites, mid-table contenders like Montpellier, Dijon, Fleury, and Paris FC are already fighting for every point in the chase for the podium.
This is where the season’s first storylines take shape: Will Lyon crush the league from the start? Will PSG recover quickly from their stumble? Or will a promoted side emerge as the dark horse?
