Gotham FC vs Chicago Stars — NWSL Live Score

A familiar rivalry renews on Saturday as reigning NWSL champions Gotham FC welcome the Chicago Stars to Sports Illustrated Stadium in Harrison. This contest pits two of the league's most enduring franchises against each other, each with a rich history in American women's soccer.

Gotham FC enters this game as one of the NWSL's most decorated clubs. The New Jersey/New York side secured their second NWSL Championship in three years in 2025, a dominant stretch unmatched in the modern era. That 1-0 victory over Washington Spirit saw Rose Lavelle earn Championship MVP honors, adding another chapter to the club's storied legacy, which began as Sky Blue FC in 2007.

Across the pitch, the Chicago Stars arrive with their own deep roots. Founded in 2006, the club, formerly known as the Chicago Red Stars, boasts one of the longest active playoff streaks in NWSL history, an eight-year run of consistency from 2015 to 2022. The Stars reached the NWSL Championship final in 2019 and were Challenge Cup runners-up in 2020, establishing themselves as perennial contenders before their recent acquisition by a new ownership group.

In their six previous meetings, Gotham FC has held the upper hand, securing three wins against the Stars' zero, with three matches ending in a draw. This historical advantage for the hosts adds another layer to the narrative as the visitors aim to rewrite that particular statistic. The atmosphere at Sports Illustrated Stadium is always electric for a game of this magnitude, and fans can expect a competitive clash as these two NWSL stalwarts battle for control.
