Boston Legacy vs Houston Dash — NWSL Live Score

New England's newest professional football club, Boston Legacy FC, welcomes the seasoned Houston Dash to Boston Stadium on Sunday. This fixture pits the NWSL's fresh faces against a club that has already tasted championship glory, albeit in a unique pandemic-era tournament. For Boston Legacy W, every match represents another chapter in their inaugural season, a chance to forge their identity and build a lasting connection with a passionate sports region.

The hosts, backed by an all-female ownership group including Jennifer Epstein and Olympic gymnast Aly Raisman, have embraced their roots with a name change from BOS Nation FC to Boston Legacy, honoring the area's rich athletic tradition. This commitment to local identity is a cornerstone of the club's vision as they navigate the challenging landscape of professional women's football.

Across the pitch stand the Houston Dash W, a team that arrived in the NWSL a decade ago in 2014. The Dash claimed the 2020 NWSL Challenge Cup, a testament to their resilience and competitive spirit. They share their ownership and Shell Energy Stadium with MLS club Houston Dynamo FC, benefiting from an established infrastructure in downtown Houston's EaDo neighborhood. This shared setup provides the Dash with a robust foundation as they travel to face the league's newest expansion side.

Historical encounters between these two clubs are few, with only one previous meeting recorded. In that solitary contest, the visitors from Houston emerged victorious, giving them a slight psychological edge heading into this weekend's clash. As Boston Legacy continues to write its early history, every match offers an opportunity to challenge established NWSL teams and carve out their own legacy. This Sunday's encounter at Foxborough promises another intriguing chapter in the NWSL season.
