Women’s Champions League Matchday 3: Five Unbeaten Sides and Many Under Pressure

Published 5 min read

After two rounds of the 2025/26 UEFA Women’s Champions League group stage, the hierarchy is beginning to take shape.
Five teams, Barcelona, Real Madrid, Olympique Lyon, Wolfsburg, and Manchester United, have a perfect record and are confidently heading toward more victories.
Right behind them are Chelsea and the surprise package of the tournament, OH Leuven, showing that the European stage is becoming increasingly competitive.
At the bottom of the table, things are getting tense,  PSG, Roma, Benfica, Vålerenga, and St. Pölten remain pointless, and their situation is becoming more difficult.
Matchday 3 is the moment when every point could prove crucial in the battle for qualification.

Matchday 3 Previews

Roma W – Vålerenga W
November 11, 18:45
Both teams have started the season with two defeats and are looking for their first points. Roma, after heavy losses to Barcelona (0–4) and Real Madrid (2–6), need to rebuild, while Vålerenga, despite decent performances, lost both games by a single goal. This could be one of the most evenly matched fixtures of the round, as it’s already a survival game for both sides.

Real Madrid W – Paris FC W
November 11, 21:00
Pau Quesada’s team is in impressive form. After wins over Roma (6–2) and in Paris (2–1), Real Madrid are comfortably leading their group. Paris FC, who started with a draw against Leuven and then lost 0–4 to Chelsea, need points to get back in the race. The Spaniards are clear favourites, their attack featuring Feller, Weir, and Redondo looks like one of the most creative in Europe.

OL Lyon W – Wolfsburg W
November 11, 21:00
A clash of giants. Both Lyon and Wolfsburg have six points and have impressed with their form and efficiency. The French side dominated Arsenal and St. Pölten, while the Germans beat PSG and Vålerenga.
Hegerberg, Brand, Dumornay vs. Popp, Beerensteyn, and Minge, this is the kind of matchup that could define the battle for top spot in the group and show who is currently Europe’s most dangerous team.

St. Pölten W – Chelsea W
November 11, 21:00
Things are getting nervous in Austria, two matches, zero points, and nine goals conceded. St. Pölten look short on confidence and organization. Chelsea, under Sonia Bompastor, after a draw with Twente and a commanding 4–0 win over Paris FC, seem to be finding their rhythm. Everything points to a comfortable victory for the English side.

Barcelona W – OH Leuven W
November 12, 18:45
Barcelona continue their show of strength, 7–1 against Bayern and 4–0 against Roma tell their own story. Jonatan Giráldez’s side are in sensational form, with the Putellas–Paralluelo duo leading the attack with surgical precision.
OH Leuven are one of the season’s feel-good stories, a draw with Paris FC and a surprise win over Twente have given the Belgians four points. But at Camp Nou (or rather, the Estadi Johan Cruyff), they face the toughest test in their club’s history.

Bayern Munich W – Arsenal W
November 12, 18:45
Both sides have three points and are fighting to stay in touch with the leaders. Bayern bounced back from the 1–7 defeat to Barcelona with a win over Juventus but are still looking for stability. Arsenal lost to Lyon before beating Benfica.
Harder and Schüller for Bayern versus Mead and Russo for the Gunners, this promises an intense, physical, and very balanced encounter.

SL Benfica W – FC Twente W
November 12, 21:00
Despite two defeats, Benfica have shown flashes of attacking quality. They now host Twente, who have just one point but managed to hold Chelsea to a draw.
This could be a high-energy, hard-fought match, as both teams know that only a win will keep their qualification hopes alive.

Manchester United W – Paris SG W
November 12, 21:00
Manchester United are one of the revelations of the competition, two wins and no goals conceded. The English side play mature, disciplined football that’s bringing results.
PSG, meanwhile, are in deep trouble, after losses to Wolfsburg and Real Madrid, they must win to keep their hopes of advancing alive. For the Parisians, this is a last-chance match; for United, an opportunity to solidify their position among the frontrunners.

November 12, 21:00
