Stable Roma, phenomenal Como, Milan in crisis! Summary of Matchday 6 and key questions ahead of the next round

Published 4 min read

Matchday 6 of Serie A Femminile turned out to be one of the most significant of the season so far. After Roma’s shocking defeat in Florence reopened the Scudetto race, the latest round brought more clarity: Roma returned to winning ways, Como confirmed their surprise-package status, and Milan, once again at a key moment, fell short.

Sassuolo W 0–1 Ternana W

Goal: 14′ Giada Cimò

A match billed as the best chance for the newcomer to earn their first points indeed became a breakthrough. Ternana’s high pressing forced errors, and Cimò’s early goal shaped the match. Sassuolo dominated possession but lacked any final-third quality.

Ternana earn their first win of the season but still remain bottom of the table.

Parma W 1–1 Fiorentina W

Goals: 51′ Emma Severini (p),  58′ Gaia Distefano

Fiorentina, fuelled by their impressive win over Roma, arrived in Parma as clear favourites. Severini’s penalty reflected the visitors’ dominance, but missed chances quickly backfired, Distefano finished off a counterattack to give Parma a valuable point.

For Fiorentina, it’s a clear slowdown after last week’s big triumph.

Como W 1–0 AC Milan W

Goal: 90′ Nadine Nischler (p)
Missed penalty for Milan: 45′ Evelyn Ijeh

One of the key fixtures of the round. Milan, riding high after beating Juventus, slipped back into their efficiency issues. Ijeh wasted a penalty just before halftime, and Como, as befits the team of the season, made the most of their chance in stoppage time.

Nischler stayed composed and lifted Como into a sensational second place. One of the biggest storylines of the campaign.

Napoli W 1–0 Inter Milano W

Goal: 82′ Cecilie Fløe Nielsen

A chaotic, physical game between two sides still searching for stability. Only Nielsen’s late strike gave Napoli the win and moved them into the top five. Inter once again showed how inconsistent they are.

Roma W 1–0 Lazio W – Derby della Capitale

Goal: 29′ Lucia Di Guglielmo

Roma needed to respond after the disaster in Florence and did so professionally. Di Guglielmo finished a brilliant move, and Roma’s defence prevented Lazio from creating any real danger. The league leaders stay on top, proving they can recover after a setback.

Juventus W 2–0 Genoa W

Goals:23′ Amalie Vangsgaard, 28′ Cristiana Girelli

Juventus decided the match within five minutes. After losing to Milan, the Bianconere needed stability and found it. Genoa couldn’t match the intensity they showed in the previous round.

Key trends after Matchday 6

  • Roma rebuilt their morale and returned to winning form.
  • Como continue their outstanding run, a genuine podium contender.
  • Fiorentina drop an important point that may matter later in the season.
  • Juventus regain balance, while Milan once again fail when it matters most.
  • Ternana finally get their first win, but survival remains a long road.
  • A huge mid-table fight is forming, only four points separating places 5–10.

Preview of Matchday 7 – Serie A Femminile

The seventh round looks like one of the most evenly matched yet, every game carries major implications for the standings.

Genoa W – Napoli W (22 November, 12:30)
Napoli are on a high after beating Inter, but Genoa at home can be very difficult.

Ternana W – Parma W (22 November, 15:00)
Ternana will try to build on their breakthrough; Parma must stop their downward trend.

Como W – Roma W (23 November, 12:30)
The match of the round. The season’s revelation vs. the reigning champion. A clash that could reshape the top of the table.

Lazio W – Inter Milano W (23 November, 12:30)
Both teams struggle with inconsistency. Any result is possible.

Juventus W – Fiorentina W (23 November, 15:00)
The most prestigious fixture of the round. A direct battle for a place in the top three.

AC Milan W – Sassuolo W (23 November, 15:30)
For Milan, it’s a classic must-win match. Sassuolo are getting worse, so anything but victory would be another crisis signal.

Summary

Matchday 6 may not have delivered fireworks, but it significantly clarified the league landscape.
Roma restored their lead, Juventus returned to form, Como remain one of the sensations of the season, and Milan once again fail when they most need the points.

The battle for places 2–5 looks exceptionally intense and Matchday 7 may tighten it even further.
